Welcome to Talking Plant Protein. I'm Joey Thurman and these are this week's trending topics. Israeli seed developer Equinom claims to have broken its own industry record of protein content in a minimally processed pea ingredient at 75% protein. Equinom is calling this non GMO pea protein a game changer for plant based food makers and is now ready for commercialization.
Eclipse foods is a company working to fix the world's current food system and they're bringing us one step closer to making a plant based foods more accessible. They just announced their partnership with national fast casual food chain, Smashburger, launching six dairy free shakes. Yum! These flavors include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, tangerine dream, that's my favorite to say, peanut butter and Oreo and are currently available at all 220 of the restaurants locations.
Renewal Mill and Miyoko's Creamery are joining together to combat food waste in the tastiest of fashions. Using their star upcycled ingredient okara flour and leftovers from Miyoko's vegan butter, the two companies are releasing a new line of vegan cookies. Vegan cookies and ice cream, yum. Flavors such as salted peanut butter, chocolate chip and snicker doodle are on the way and you can find these products through the Renewal Mill's website.
